Shawn Stokes

Shawn Stokes joined the Pepsi Center in 1999 as director of production. In September, 2003 he was promoted to his current title of vice president, venue projects. In 2004 Stokes was at the center of the Opera Shop acquisition by Kroenke Sports Enterprises and took a position inside the company as vice president of business development. Stokes continues to manage and produce pieces of Pepsi Center’s larger event spectacles like the Grand Opening of Dicks Sporting Goods Park.
 
Prior to joining the Pepsi Center, Stokes was a promoter representative for House of Blues as well as Universal. Before becoming a promoter Representative, Stokes was a stage rigger and carpenter for many big name artists including; Sinead O’Connor, Peter Gabriel, Lenny Kravitz and Stereo MC’s and many other live music and theatrical projects.
 
Stokes’s education and training in stage craft and rigging has led him to design and build many unique projects worldwide. Stokes successfully graduated master rigging and staging schools offered by sanctioned international theatrical bodies. After receiving his master riggers certification in 1995, he also received his field repair certificates that can be applied to many common stage devices. Stokes then began consulting and educating prospective riggers and stage workers for large scenic companies, labor providers and lighting companies. Furthermore, Stokes has consulted in “difficult situation” executions as well as risk management and risk reduction in the work place.
