Patrick Carry, a graduate student at Colorado School of Public Health, joins the Rapids Special Olympics Unified team as a Unified partner. Carry works at the Musculoskeletal Research Center at Children’s Hospital while pursuing his Master’s degree in Biostatistics. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Medicine from Cornell College (Mt. Vernon, Iowa).
Carry has been a Special Olympics Colorado partner for six years. He tries to participate in at least one SOCO activity each season to stay involved with the Denver community. Carry says that participation has made him realize that athletics bring all people and communities together regardless of cognitive level or athletic ability. Carry enjoys soccer, fly fishing and mountain biking. His favorite soccer player is former Rapids midfielder Carlos Valderrama.
