Ibsen Ojeda-Ayala is a 19-year-old who attended West High School in Denver. He has been a Special Olympics athlete for five years and has participated in soccer and basketball. He is in his second year on the Colorado Rapids Special Olympics Unified team.
Ojeda-Ayala’s proudest accomplishments are scoring goals during his Special Olympics soccer games. He says that Special Olympics has changed his life because it has raised his self-esteem and brought special significance to his life.
He enjoys listening to music and watching soccer and basketball, especially the Denver Nuggets, the Colorado Rapids and Chivas USA. His favorite current Rapids player is Brian Mullan, and he was also a fan of former Rapids star Conor Casey.
