Mitchell Hulyk of Denver is competing in Special Olympics for the first time as a Unified Partner on the Rapids SOCO Unified Soccer team. The 24-year-old outside midfielder works in client relations for Digital Globe Services, Inc.
In addition to playing soccer twice a week, Hulyk also enjoys skiing, biking and running. His proudest accomplishment is being a Big Brother through the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. “I haven’t had much experience with Special Olympics to date, however, I am very excited to learn from this team and all its incredible people,” says Hulyk. “I’m looking forward to making a positive impact on the team, but even more excited for what I will learn from being a Unified Partner.”
Hulyk is an avid soccer fan and will attend the 2014 World Cup to see the USA vs. Ghana match. His favorite Rapids player is Jose Mari.
