Caroline Pira has been a Special Olympics volunteer for nine years and has experience coaching soccer, softball and track.
The 43-year-old Westminster High School graduate now works as an examiner at the Department of Labor. Pira said that she is most proud of “bringing a group of athletes together and becoming a true team” during her coaching career. “I also love to see the progression of an athlete and seeing their satisfaction and sense of accomplishment,” Pira says.
Of Special Olympics, Pira says that it has expanded her heart. “The athletes continue to amaze me,” she says. “This season, I look forward to working with two amazing organizations which have become one for some very special people.”
In her spare time, Pira enjoys family ATV trips and hanging out at the lake. Her favorite Rapids star is Vincent Sanchez.
