Special Olympics

2015 Schedule

The Colorado Rapids and SOCO kicked off their fourth year of their partnership on Sunday, May 17 when they defeated the Special Olympics Kansas Unified team 3-2 with goals from Casey Wagner (2) and Aimar Sanchez. The match, which was previously scheduled for Saturday night after the MLS match between the Rapids and Sporting KC, took place on Sunday morning after inclement weather postponed all Saturday activities.

Through the generosity of the Kroenke Sports Charities’ Teammates for Kids program, in addition to financial and in-kind support from Dick’s Sporting Goods, Coca-Cola, adidas, Cardel Homes and the Colorado Rapids, 20 athletes and coaches from Colorado had the opportunity to engage with the Rapids in a one-of-a-kind experience.
