Julia Terrell has been involved with Special Olympics for 17 years and has been playing soccer for 10 years. She also enjoys swimming, skiing, golf and bowling.
Terrell says that Special Olympics has changed her life because she has felt a sense of success by earning medals and she has become more independent. She also loves that Special Olympics keeps her strong and healthy. Terrell looks forward to scoring goals and having fun with new teammates during her first season of Rapids SOCO Unified soccer.
The 27-year-old is proud of moving into her own apartment and being employed at Safeway for nearly six years.
Outside of work and sports, Terrell enjoys crafts and decorating her clothing with fabric paint. She also volunteers at the Action Center to help the homeless.
Terrell’s favorite Rapids star is Clint Irwin.
