19-Year Old Lee Nguyen 2004 US High School Player of the Year Signs With PSV Eindhoven
EINDHOVEN Netherlands (AP) - PSV Eindhoven said Thursday that it had signed American forward Lee Nguyen to a 3 1/2-year contract.
Financial terms were not disclosed but local press said Nguyen had signed for around $545000 per season.
The 19-year-old was the 2004 high school player of the year in the United States before he moved to Indiana University and was a regular on U.S. national youth teams.
PSV coach Guus Hiddink spotted him at last year's World Youth Championship tournament in the Netherlands and added him to his squad which already includes United States winger DaMarcus Beasley.
Two trial periods with PSV's youth side "proved he is a good addition for the future PSV said in a statement."
