COMMERCE CITY Colo. (Wednesday February 3 2010) – Major League Soccer and the Colorado Rapids released their 2010 regular season schedules today. The Rapids a charter member of MLS will kick off their 15th season on the road for a second consecutive season as they travel to The Home Depot Center to face Chivas USA on Friday March 26 at 8:30 pm MT.

The following weekend the Rapids return to Colorado for their home opener on Saturday April 3 to take on the Chicago Fire at 2:00 pm MT.
The Rapids look to continue their six-game home opener unbeaten streak as well as their franchise best four-game winning streak in home openers. Colorado are a perfect 3-0-0 in home openers since moving into Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and have outscored their opponents 8 to 2 in those matches.
For the first time in league history every team will play each of the other 15 clubs once at home and once away for a balanced 30-game season. Fans will be able to watch all 240 MLS games live via the national broadcast partners regional telecasts the MLS Direct Kick television package or MLSnet.com. The Rapids’ local television schedule and kickoff times for all home game will be released at a later date.
Notable elements of the 2010 Rapids schedule include:
-A two-week break in the MLS season (June 11-24) which coincides with the group phase of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
-Colorado’s biggest and best fireworks show will be back for a 15th straight edition when the Rapids host the New York Red Bulls on July 4th.
-MLS’s newest expansion team the Philadelphia Union come to Colorado on July 21.
-For a fourth straight year the Rapids play their Rocky Mountain Cup rivals Real Salt Lake in the season finale scheduled for October 23 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
