Colorado School of Mines to Honor Mooch at Friday's Home Game vs. National Champs Ft. LewisnewsGOLDEN CO (ColoradoRapids.com) - The Colorado School of Mines Men's Soccer program announced today that the team will honor former Colorado Rapids Head Coach Glenn "Mooch" Myernick's memory at this Friday night's game vs. the defending National Champions Fort Lewis College."We felt strongly that as a program we needed to find a way to honor Mooch said School of Mines Head Coach Frank Kohlenstein. "He started a relationship between the Rapids and Mines that continues today and many of our players grew up watching him coach the Rapids." As part of the celebrations in honor of Mooch that night all high school club and youth soccer players wearing their jersey or club t-shirt will be admitted free into the game. "Mooch meant so much to Colorado soccer allowing kids in to this match for free we feel would be a great way to honor him added Kohlenstein. The match is scheduled to take place this Friday Oct. 13 at 7pm at Brooks Field on the School of Mines campus in Golden vs. the National Champions Fort Lewis College.
