"What a great game! This was the first live soccer game for me my wife and 2 sons and we had a great time. Could not have asked for a better first game. The action was great the stadium is top of the line and all the people we meet were great. We came all the way from North Platte Nebraska and I will definitely do it again. I coach a U9 boys travel team and would like to bring my whole team and let them experience the Rapids in person. Going in to this MLS season I was not a die-hard fan of any one team but after Saturday I am now a Rapids fan for life. My family thanks the Rapids for a great night."

"Well simply put it was everything. A huge crowd who cheered loudly the fast-paced play on the field having my two young nephews along who will be attending the next home game and the goals goals and more goals!! Great night all around!! See you on the 19th for another home win!!"

"Paul Cooke here Terry's brother. I watched the game live online here in the UK. Very proud of the bro showed what he's all about but I was also very impressed with the way the team gelled. They attacked with pace had plenty of options closed down early and applied pressure all over the park. The defense were as tight as a duck's rear end. The Rapids were tactically perfect they outplayed outclassed & outworked the Galaxy. But well done Terry I woke the neighbours shouting when your goal went in. Are they calling you Captain Cooke?"

"Amazing day and a great game. What energy and what a gorgeous stadium. The Rapids' staff were so polite and generous and all seemed like they really wanted to host us that day. What a great experience. We'll be back!"

"Well where can I start. I mean the tailgate was done top of the line by all three supporters groups the pre-game festivities were top notch. And the game was worth more than the money we spent. I took two people to the game who never seen one first hand they enjoyed it so much they ended up buying season tickets. The atmosphere was electric and the Rapids played a near-perfect game. It was all worth the 11 hours we spent on the stadium grounds. Here's to another win on the 19th."

"My wife and I had the opportunity to go the opening game thanks to a friend who gave us tickets. Soccer is my favorite sport and we both enjoy watching soccer. On the opening day we had such a blast that we bought season tickets the following day. We have every game marked on our calendar and will attend all of the home games as well as watch the away games on tv. We are excited about the 2008 season and are waiting in anticipation of the next home game on April 19 where we will probably walk away with more Rapids gear and hopefully a victory over the San Jose Earthquakes! Go Rapids!!!!"

"Wow! What an opening day for the Colorado Rapids! Defeating the LA Galaxy (and David Beckham) 4-0 definitely made the night but I honestly think the best part about going to Rapids games and this past one especially is the atmosphere energy and excitement. Seeing nice genuine people and families enjoying the Colorado air and cheering for an approachable team (forget even getting near the Broncos or Avs or even the Rockies now) really makes me glad to be in Dick's Sporting Goods Park. I love that you don't have to pay for parking I love that the players and staff visit the Cantina afterward I love the community feel and I love that you took down that net behind the goal after the practice session. I'm proud of our Colorado Rapids -- I think they're a great asset to Denver! Good job on Opening Day!"

"The Rapids are awesome! I just went to my first game last weekend and it was great. I'm hooked! I honestly can't get enough soccer since that game. I have been watching all the games on FSC since then MLS or not. Going back to the game on Saturday I had always had a slight interest in soccer but had never been to an actual Rapids game and the atmosphere blew me away. I couldn't believe how loud that stadium gets it was awesome."

"This was by far the best Rapids game that I had ever been to! We pounded the Galaxy 4-0 in a match that displayed the talents of many of our younger players such as Kimura Clark and many others. I was thoroughly pleased by Christian Gomez's performance and he gave us a taste of what we'll see from him this coming season. Our boys controlled the ball and dominated the play all game long. I could definitely tell that the emotions were running high for the players on both teams which ended up with a minor brawl at the end and a couple ejections. This definitely did not have the casual feel of an opening game. It felt more like an end of the season game when important points would be on the line. The atmosphere was amazing and the fan involvement was like I had never seen before! I truly hope that this could start something very special for the fans with more fan involvement and more special moments like these to come."

"As new season ticket holders we looked forward with great anticipation to the Opening Day pageantry. The stadium gleamed and the pitch glowed. While we were slightly disappointed with the nets behind the goal during warm-ups we were glad to see them come down at the beginning of the game. As the game began and action on the field heated up we again were entertained with the English drinking songs celebrating our Rapids team. While the songs at times were difficult to understand we found ourselves joining in the revelry as the tunes rang out. We look forward to many more exciting games throughout the season."
"As a forty-two year old goalkeeper trainer who just can’t seem to hang up the boots I found myself having what was one of the roughest years of my life. I finished up a rather unexpected divorce had to recover from a broken jaw that I experienced during a rainy day in the net and fresh out of back surgery on Friday morning I found myself still feeling giddy about another opening day. After what seemed like a hundred requests for my brother to attend a game with me he finally said yes. Perhaps he wanted to see a quality English player that night (so glad he got to see Terry Cooke.) Anyhow I with the use of a cane and prescribed medicinal help was able to sit in my usual seat behind the goal---the only place a proper 'keeper can watch a game from. I found myself getting up and down on numerous occasions due to a welcomed offensive outburst. The last time I missed a Rapids game was when I got married. We see what happened to that one. Go Rapids."

"My wife and I would simply like to say it was a fantastic experience! This will be our second year as season ticket holders and we would like to congratulate the entire Rapids organization for improving the entire package with this season opener. Getting in for both seats and parking were fantastic and well-accepted by all of us looking to push the Rapids to global status along with the MLS! We both look forward to this season with Rapids chants and "boos" for our opponents. Dick's Sporting Goods Park is an awesome place to see the game as well as opening ceremonies (skydivers)."

Thank you Rapids for the experience of a life! The Rapids kicked butt and I’ll be back for one heck of a great time! Also the Timbers Hotel was first class too….they delivered us to the game and picked us up at a very professional clip."
