Rapids' 2007 Open Tryouts Canceled Due to Unsuitable Field Conditions

WESTMINSTER - The Colorado Rapids announced today that the club's 2007 Open Tryouts which were to have taken place on Feb. 10 have been canceled due to the recent severe weather and resulting unsuitable field conditions and will not be rescheduled.

Despite the Open Tryouts having been sold out at 150 participants registered the large amounts of snowfall over the past month have left the fields upon which the tryouts were to be held unusable and local indoor facilities are insufficient with the tryouts' needs.

With the Rapids players and coaches leaving for spring training in the upcoming weeks and the season beginning on April 7 the Rapids are unable to reschedule the tryout session this year.

The Colorado Rapids do offer tryouts and guest training sessions with the team on an individual basis by invitation only throughout the rest of the year. If you are interested in applying for an invitation tryout prospective players may mail in their resume (or Curriculum Vitae) detailing their entire soccer-playing history to be considered for a tryout invitation t

The Colorado Rapids apologize for the inconvenience and will refund the registration fees of all applicants. Thank you very much for your understanding; for more information please call the Rapids Open Tryouts Hotline at (720) 931-1980.
