Rapids Acquire Denver Native Aaron King From the Galaxy
DENVER CO (Wednesday February 8 2006) – The Colorado Rapids acquired today forward Aaron King from the Los Angeles in exchange for a first round draft pick in the MLS 2007 Supplemental Draft.
King 21 and a Denver native was the Galaxy’s fourth-round pick (48th overall) in the 2006 MLS SuperDraft held last month in Philadelphia. King returns home to the Mile High City after spending four years at North Carolina State. While with the Wolfpack King scored 44 goals and had 15 assists. He was a NSCAA/adidas second team All-American in 2005 and was named first team All-Atlantic Coast Conference for the 2003 2004 and 2005 seasons.
King graduated from Smoky Hill High School in Aurora Colo. where he helped the men’s soccer team win the state championship in 2000.
