Rapids Foundation Provides Aid for Child Health Care

COMMERCE CITY CO - The Colorado Rapids Communty Care Foundation will present a check to aid child health care at the next Rapids home game on Wed. Sept. 23 the Rapids Foundation announced today.
The Rapids Foundation teamed up with the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation to offer financial assistance to non-profit agencies providing health care to children in our community.
This season Commerce City Community Health Services and Inner City Health Center will each be presented with a $3000 grant courtesy of the Rapids Foundation and Teammates for Kids on the pitch prior to the Rapids game vs. San Jose on Wednesday September 23 at 7:30pm at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
Commerce City Community Health Services (CCCHS) provides community and school-based primary health care services in Commerce City and Westminster to children and adolescents ages birth to 21 years since 1978. The organization’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of infants children and youth while emphasizing preventative health care health promotion and health education particularly to children who are high-risk and underserved. In 30 years of care CCCHS has provided more than 100000 health visits to 43500 children.
Inner City Health Center (ICHC) has provided quality comprehensive medical and dental care to Denver’s historic Five Points Neighborhood for 25 years. The Pediatric Program of ICHC provides quality primary comprehensive outpatient well and sick child care including neonatal acute/chronic illness treatment and appropriate immunizations. ICHC far exceeds state and national averages for childhood immunizations with an average annual rate exceeding 90%. Furthermore ICHC providers educate children and their parents on the importance of nutrition and a healthy and active lifestyle.
