Rapids To Host WPSL Women's Soccer Match Before Wednesday's Game at Invesco Field
DENVER (ColoradoRapids.com) - Prior to the Rapids' match vs. the LA Galaxy on Wednesday May 31st the Colorado Rapids will host the Colorado Springs Sabers and Denver Diamonds in a Women's Premier Soccer League match at Invesco Field. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:30pm and will feature some of the best women's soccer players here in Colorado.
This match will be free and open to attend for any fans holding a Colorado Rapids game ticket.

About the Denver Diamonds: After completing their first three seasons in the WPSL the Denver Diamonds boasts a combined record of 28-9-6 and were league runners-up in 2004. After a hiatus from the league in 2005 the Denver Diamonds are looking forward to competing in the WPSL once again and looking forward to competing for the League Championship. About the Colorado Springs Sabers: The Colorado Springs Sabers program began in May of 2005 under the direction of Head Coach Erik Oman and Assistant Coach Brian Barkey. The summer of 2005 saw the Sabers play as an exhibition team in several local tournaments and friendly matches. 2006 will be the Sabers' first year in the WPSL. The team features former WUSA players as well as players from the US Air Force Academy Colorado College Denver University and Metro State University.
