Rapids Midfielder Dedi Ben-Dayan Transferred to Israeli Club Maccabi Netanya

DENVER CO (Tuesday August 08 2006)- The Colorado Rapids announced today that midfielder Dedi Ben-Dayan has been transferred to Israeli Premier League Club Maccabi Netanya F.C.. Terms of the transfer have not been disclosed.

Ben-Dayan was signed by the Rapids on Aug. 3 2005 to bolster the team’s attack going into the playoffs. In 2005 his first year with the club the Israeli midfielder scored four goals and had two assists in eight games.

His four goals came in consecutive games from Sept. 21 to Oct. 5. He recorded a season high in points on Oct. 1 with a goal and assist against Real Salt Lake.

This season Ben-Dayan has played in 16 games and matched his numbers for goals and assists from last year. On July 20 he had an assist and goal against Chivas USA.

For his career Ben-Dayan scored in all five games he played against Chivas USA.
