Rapids Open First Ever Soccer Academy

ColoradoRapids.com -The Colorado Rapids opened up the club’s 2005 Colorado Rapids Camps and Soccer Academy on July 18 at River Run Park in Commerce City.

First year Rapids assistant coach John Murphy runs the Rapids Academy with the assistance of multiple Rapids players at each session. In the most recent session defenders Amir Lowery and Dan Gargan along with midfielder Guy Melamed shared their knowledge of soccer with the enthusiastic youngsters.

A great number of kids between the ages of 9-14 have signed up for Session 1 which will run every Monday through August 22. Session 2 will begin on Aug. 10 and will be held each Wednesday until Sept. 28 excluding Aug. 17 when the Rapids take on the New England Revolution in MLS play.

Each participant will receive two tickets to the Rapids game on Wednesday October 5th against Chivas USA at INVESCO Field where they will be recognized prior to the match. Participants also receive a free T-shirt a water bottle and a private viewing of a Rapids training session followed by an autograph session.
