Rapids Reserves Cruise to 3-0 Victory Over Galaxy Reserves
Commerce City Colo. (Sunday May 27 2007) – The Colorado Rapids Reserves improved to 3-0-1 in the MLS Reserve Division with a 3-0 victory over the Los Angeles Galaxy Reserves at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Omar Cummings created problems for the Galaxy Reserves defense throughout the game and finished with two assists. The Jamaican had dangerous opportunities in the 21st and 27th minutes but it was in the 15th minute when he was fouled by Andy O’Shay that he earned a penalty kick.
Jacob Peterson coming off of a two-goal performance on Wednesday extended the Rapids Reserves lead to 2-0 when he buried a shot off of passes from Cummings and Nico Colaluca.
In second half stoppage time John DiRaimondo headed in another Cummings assist for his first goal of the season and the Rapids third and final of the game.
The Rapids Reserves are scheduled to play next Saturday June 2 at Toronto FC in a double header after the 1:30 p.m. (MT) MLS regular season contest between the two teams.
