Rapids Reserves Defeat Metro State 3-0 in Preseason Exhibition

Commerce City Colorado (Wednesday March 28 2007) – The Colorado Rapids Reserves prevailed 3-0 over the Metropolitan State Roadrunners on a cold windy afternoon at Dick’s SportingGoodsPark today.

Daniel Wasson stepped up and scored a penalty kick in the 39th minute. Jacob Peterson earned the kick after being getting behind the Metro defense and being fouled in the box.

The second goal came from Yherland McDonald in the 76th minute when he scored on a rebound off of an Omar Cummings shot.

Colorado capped the scoring in the 87th minute with a goal from Nico Colaluca. The Rapids’ first round draft choice finished a Dan Gargan cross for the goal.

The Rapids will take on Real Salt Lake in their final preseason game this Saturday March 31 in Las Vegas before opening the MLS season on April 7 at 1:30 p.m. against D.C. United at the brand-new state-of-the-art Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
