Rapids to Scrimmage PDL's Colorado Springs Blizzard this Sunday July 10 at Colorado College
Colorado Rapids Media Relations - With a bye weekend in league action between their July 4th match against Kansas City at INVESCO Field at Mile High and their July 16th visit to the MetroStars at Giants Stadium the Colorado Rapids will play an exhibition match against the PDL's Colorado Spring Blizzard.
The match will be played this Sunday July 10th at 2:00 p.m. MT at Washburn Field on the campus of Colorado College in Colorado Springs CO.
The Blizzard who are currently in sixth pace of the PDL’s Heartland Division have a history of producing Major League Soccer-caliber players such as James Riley Marcus Sagastume and Patrick McGinnis. Riley (New England Revolution) and Sagastume (Colorado Rapids) played with the Blizzard in 2004 while McGinnis (Kansas City Wizards) trained with the Blizzard in '04 and was the leading goal scorer in NCAA Division III breaking the all-time Colorado College scoring record for one season.
Tickets are $6.00 and kids 10 and under and Blizzard season ticket holders will receive free admission!
Fans will also have the chance to enjoy the musical stylings of The Storys before and at halftime of Sunday's Blizzard game against the Rapids. The Storys entertain Blizzard fans with acoustical guitar and voice classic rock songs.
