Rapids Sign MLS Veteran Kelly Gray Off Waivers
COMMERCE CITY CO. (Friday March 28 2008) – The Colorado Rapids today signed six-year MLS veteran defender Kelly Gray after he was waived by Los Angeles at the beginning of the month.
"Kelly knows how to win and his championship experience will benefit this team as we look to improve in 2008 said Head Coach Fernando Clavijo.
Gray was selected by Chicago in the first round (fifth overall) of the 2002 MLS SuperDraft and was with the Fire for the first three and a half years of his MLS career helping them win the 2003 U.S. Open Cup and reach the MLS Cup that year before being traded to San Jose in 2005.
