Rapids Travel to Face Wizards This Saturday!

COMMERCE CITY CO (ColoradoRapids.com) – Your Colorado Rapids play their second match in four days when they travel to Kansas City to take on the Wizards.
Kickoff is set for 6:30pm MT this Saturday September 26th at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.
This is the second and final match in the regular season series between Colorado and Kansas City; their first match back in Week 2 on March 28 saw the Rapids win their third straight home opener at Dick's Sporting Goods Park with a 2-1 victory (for the match recap and video highlights click here).
The Rapids are coming off a Wednesday night tilt and back-to-back games against San Jose which saw Conor Casey convert penalty kicks in stoppage time of each match to give Colorado 1-1 draws with the Earthquakes.
Colorado (10-8-8 38 pts) moved up one spot in the Western Conference standings per their result against San Jose and are now tied for third place with Seattle. Having scored a goal in four straight matches Conor Casey remains atop the league’s Golden Boot leader list with 15 goals and following his PK score Wednesday is now the club’s all-time single season scoring leader.
Kansas City (8-11-6 30 pts) are looking to jump into the playoff race in the East coming from their current sixth place spot. The Wizards enter the match having won three of their last four matches.
The Rapids play three of their final four games away from home. Despite having one of the league’s best home records Colorado have not earned three points away from home since May 30.
The Rapids hold a 17-19-8 all-time record against Kansas City in 14 years of competition. On the road the Rapids are 3-15-3 and have not won a match against the Wizards as the visiting side since Sept. 14 2002 going 0-6-2 since that time.
Saturday's match will be televised on Altitude Sports & Entertainment with Mike Hayes and Marcelo Balboa calling the action.
