Rapids Weekly Team Update
June 27, 2010
SUNRISE FL (2/19/08) - The Colorado Rapids are wrapping up their time here in Florida and have two more games this week before returning to the Mile High City.
On Wednesday the team will travel to Bradenton Fla. to take on the U.S. U-17 National Team in a split squad game and on Friday the Rapids will face Real Salt Lake as their Rocky Mountain rivalry hits South Florida.
After training sessions in the morning and games at night on both Friday and Saturday the Rapids had Sunday off.
Many of the players hit the beach before Head Coach Fernando Clavijo and his family hosted a Uruguayan barbeque for the whole team at their Florida home.
Rapids goalkeeper Bouna Coundoul also finally rejoined the team after his stint with Senegal at the African Cup of Nations.
Yesterday the Rapids played a 90 minute scrimmage against a local select team and won 10-0. Colorado had six goal scorers on the day: Omar Cummings (3) Jovan Kirovski (2) Niko Hernandez (2) Colin Clark (1) Kosuke Kimura (1) and Scott Campbell (1).

TODAY'S QUOTES FROM TRAINING
Today's quote comes from Rapids striker Omar Cummings who scored for the Rapids in their 3-0 victory over Honduran club Marathon on Saturday about how the Rapids' preseason is progressing:
"I’m enjoying the weather. I’m from Jamaica so the Miami weather reminds me of home. It’s been going well. I feel a lot more confident than I did at this time last year. This year at this time I have more experience and know what I’m supposed to do. The guys around me know more about me too and that makes it better for all of us."
