World Cup of Wine & Beer a big success
Commerce City, Colo. - Wednesday’s cool air and spitting rain drops forced the 3rd Annual Colorado Rapids World Cup of Wine and Beer to relocate from the field level to the Press Lounge at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, but it didn’t dampen the festivities or the fundraising event.
More than 200 fans, clients, and friends of the Rapids happily mingled with Rapids players and coaches and enjoyed the abundance of free food and alcohol at the annual fundraising event, which benefits Kroenke Sports Charities. Each patron received a wine and beer glass and went from table to table sampling over 50 different wines, eight beers and spirits, and even cigars, presented by Stanley Papas Cigars.
Aside from sampling the various Heineken USA beers, wines and spirits, patrons tasted the delicious food provided by Morton’s Steakhouse and Chipotle while taking in the gorgeous panoramic views of the pitch and stadium from the Press Lounge balcony.
Guests also took part in the silent auction, posed for pictures with the Rapids players and coaches, and purchased Mystery Corks that offered prizes from 80 businesses around the Denver metro area.
Thanks to the support of attendees, Kroenke Sports Charities raised over $15,000 on the night. Money raised through the Kroenke Sports Charities benefits underserved children by providing assistance through educational, nutritional and recreational programs.
Kroenke Sports Charities and the Colorado Rapids would like to thank all those who attended and made contributions, as well as Southern Wine & Spirits, who provided the wine, and Heineken USA, Morton’s Steakhouse and Chipotle Mexican Grill.
Kroenke Sports Charities is already looking forward to the 4th Annual Colorado Rapids World Cup of Wine & Beer in July of 2011!
