Rapids duo to represent Jamaica in CONCACAF Gold Cup in June

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, May 23, 2011) – Colorado Rapids forward Omar Cummings and defender Tyrone Marshall today were named to the Jamaica National Team’s final 23-man roster for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup, which will be played throughout the United States from June 5-25.

Cummings made his debut with the Reggae Boyz on July 26, 2008 against El Salvador and has since earned 23 caps and scored seven goals. His most recent match for Jamaica was on March 29, 2011, where he scored the game-winning goal in a 3-2 win over El Salvador. He earned his first cap on May 17, 2000 against Romania and last played for Jamaica on January 31, 2010 against Canada. Marshall, who has started the last seven games for Colorado at center back, will join the Jamaica camp in Los Angeles on June 2. He will be available for the Rapids’ two regular season matches this week against New York Red Bulls and Sporting Kansas City.
