The Colorado Rapids and Kroenke Sports Charities teamed up with HealthONE, Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids and Hasbro to make a difference in their community outside of the walls of Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and inside those of the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children at Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center where there reside many children who are unable to see the Rapids in regular season action.

So instead, the Rapids came to them and players Jeff Larentowicz, captain Pablo Mastroeni, Jamie Smith, Caleb Folan and Anthony Wallace, accompanied by mascot Edson the Eagle, took a couple hours out of their day on Wednesday, June 22 to present the Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children with a brand new interactive activity cart, which included board games, puzzles, coloring books, crayons, and two PlayStation 3 consoles. Hasbro donated more than 300 toys and games to stock up the cart with as well as the “Bags of Fun” which were given to each patient to bring home. The cart will be brought to hospital rooms multiple times per week by RMHC volunteers to provide entertainment for children coping with physical injuries and emotional distress.
