LA's coach Arena: "We’re thankful we survived it"
On the penalty kick:
"I saw nothing. There was not a foul. It was a poor call. We survived it though, fortunately."
On the first half:
"I think it’s always difficult to get your second wind when you’re playing in altitude. I thought our guys acted tired toward the end of the half, but the second goal was obviously big. I thought the first half we played well and as the game went on and they got the goal, I think around the 63rd minute, great goal by Cummings I give him a lot of credit. They played pretty direct and put us under a lot of pressure in our penalty area. And Saunders obviously came up big at the end of the game."
On possession and the second half:
"I think we could have done a better job with the goal. They forced us to have to defend an awful lot and Colorado came at us and it was challenging and certainly a pretty hectic closing minutes of that game with that call and everything else. Absolutely remarkable, we’re thankful we survived it. But it’s unfortunate that those kind of mistakes occur because that could have cost us dearly. These points at this time of year are important, especially in conference games so we’re thankful we got out of here with three points. We haven’t started real well so it’s important we piece some wins together."
