Commerce City, Colo. - There's no place like home! Hopefully...

After playing seven of the first 11 games on the road - including four separate trips to the east coast - the Colorado Rapids will play five of their next six matches, and six of the next eight, at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

The Rapids are 2-5 on the road this year, winning at Philadelphia and Dallas and losing at New York, New England, Salt Lake, Seattle, and DC.

At home, the team is 3-1 and has outscored the opponents 9-2, with shutout victories over Columbus, Chicago, and Chivas USA and the lone loss to LA Galaxy.

With 15 points off the 5-6-0 record, the team sits in 5th place in the West and in the upper half of the overall general table. Seven teams have more points, while 10 have fewer.

And the schedule has taken a favorable turn. Not even out of May yet, and the team only has only one trip to eastern time zone remaining for the rest of the year, on July 18 at Toronto.

The match against Sporting KC this Saturday, May 19 will kick off the home stretch of games, marking the first meeting between the two sides since SKC defeated the Rapids 4-0 in the two game series of the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs. The teams tied both regular season matches last year. Colorado's last win over KC was on March 28, 2009, a 2-1 victory at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.

The following Saturday, Colorado will host the expansion Montreal Impact before having a two week break from MLS action to participate in the U.S. Open Cup. The team enters the tournament on May 29 against either Jacksonville at home, or Tampa on the road. MORE. If the Rapids win that match, they'll advance to the 4th round on June 5.

They return to MLS action with a match in Vancouver in mid-June before hosting San Jose, Portland, and Vancouver consecutively.
