LaBauex, Wynne to host clinic for physically and emotionally disabled athletes

Participants come from Special Olympics Colorado and National Sports Center for the Disabled

On Wednesday, June 6, 2012, Rapids players Ross LaBauex and Marvell Wynne will host a soccer clinic with 85 athletes from Special Olympics Colorado and National Sports Center for the Disabled. Participants will learn the basics of dribbling, shooting, and passing while getting the opportunity to meet Rapids players and mascot. Each participant will receive a soccer ball, gift bag and autographs and photos from players.

WHO: Rapids players Ross LaBauex and Marvell Wynne will host 85 physically and emotionally disabled athletes from Special Olympics Colorado (SOC) and National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD)

WHAT: Rapids soccer AbilityClinic

HOW: The clinic is a heartwarming annual event. It provides SOC and NSCD athletes with coaching assistance through rotation stations including skills development in shooting, dribbling and passing. Each athlete will personally have the opportunity to interact with each Rapids player. The athletes range in age from 7 to 30 years old and throughout the metro area.
