COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Tuesday, June 12, 2012) – The Colorado Rapids announced on Tuesday that the club has re-signed Drew Moor, a standout defender and member of Rapids’ 2010 MLS Cup-winning team, to a multi-year contract. Per league and team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“Drew has been a critical piece of our squad since he joined us in 2009, and was essential to our MLS Cup run in 2010,” said Rapids Technical Director Paul Bravo. “His talent, intelligence, and leadership have made him an important member of the club, both on and off the field, and we’re thrilled to have him with us for years ahead.”

Moor, 28, has played 83 regular season games (all starts) since joining the team in a trade with FC Dallas on August 31, 2009, scoring seven goals, including two so far in 2012. On August 27, 2011, he set an MLS record for non-goalkeepers by playing the full 90 minutes in 69 straight regular season matches, a total of 6,210 minutes of consecutive action. In 2010, Moor became only the third field player in MLS history to play every minute of every possible MLS game, both regular season and playoffs, as he earned Rapids Defender of the Year honors and helped the club to their first ever MLS Cup.
