Rapids match in LA re-schedule for September 14

Game moved up two days due to LA's Champions League match

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Tuesday, July 17, 2012) – The Colorado Rapids and the LA Galaxy announced today that the game between the clubs, which was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday, September 16, will now be played on Friday, September 14. The game will now kick off at 8 p.m. PT (7 p.m. MT) at The Home Depot Center, and will be broadcast live on Altitude with the Coors Light Away Game Viewing Party held at The Irish Hound in Denver.

The match was moved two days earlier due to the Galaxy’s CONCACAF Champions League match against the Puerto Rico Islanders in Puerto Rico on September 19. The Rapids’ On The Road with the Rapids contest presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods Park will still take place for the now September 14th trip, and fans can enter the photo contest to win round trip airfare for two to Los Angeles, two nights stay at the team hotel, two tickets to the match, and much more by visiting the app on the Colorado Rapids Facebook page.

A week from today, the Colorado Rapids face Swansea City of the English Premier League on Tuesday, July 24 in the Rapids’ fifth ever International Friendly. Before facing the Welsh side, the Rapids will complete a two-game road swing against Toronto FC and Real Salt Lake this Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets to the match against Swansea City start at $22, and there is a special two-pack available to fans that includes a ticket to the Swansea match on July 24 and the September 5 regular season matchup against Portland Timbers for just $40.
