Moor, Mathis, McCarty among those previously picked at #6

Many solid players have been selected with the same picks the Rapids have in 2013

(UPDATED Jan. 16, 2013 at 4:30 pm MT following the acquisition of the #11 overall pick from Chicago in the trade that also involved Jeff Larentowicz and the 30th overall pick).

The annual MLS drafts have consistantly shown two things:

1. You can find talented players that can make a long-term impact in MLS.

2. You can also miss on a player - be it, he doesn't work out, or you passed on one that has a nice career.

The Colorado Rapids have three picks in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft (Thursday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. MT), including their own at #6, the 11th overall (from Chicago), and #25 overall.

And history may be on the Rapids' side, especially at #6, where players like Clint Mathis, Bobby Rhine, Danny Califf, Rodney Wallace, Todd Dunivant, Dax McCarty, and the Rapids' own Drew Moor found their way into the professional ranks and sustained long careers.

Take a look below at which players were selected with each of the Rapids' 2013 selections in the first 17 MLS college / SuperDrafts.
