New Colorado Rapids forward Charles Eloundou today played the final 30 minutes for Cameroon's senior national team in a 1-0 friendly loss to Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.

Tanzania's Mbwana Samata struck in the 89th minute to give his side the home victory. Cameroon entered the friendly without star midfielder Alex Song and striker Samuel Eto'o, both ruled out to injury days before the match. Eloundou entered the match for Tchami Herve in the 58th minute.

Colorado aquired the 18-year Cameroonian last month through a weighted lottery.

Neither country qualified for the current African Cup of Nations tournament, so both used the international fixture dates to prepare for next month's World Cup Qualifiers. Cameroon will face Togo in Yaounde on March 22 while Tanzania will host Morocco on the same day.
