Former RSL goalkeeper Reynish to train with Colorado
Former Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Kyle Reynish is joining the Colorado Rapids for training on Thursday, Rapids Techinical Director Paul Bravo told ColoradoRapids.com.
Reynish is the first goalkeeper to arrive since Matt Pickens broke bones in his forearm last Saturday in a match against RSL.
Rapids coach Oscar Pareja said earlier this week that he had a pool of goalkeepers in mind to come in and possibly compete with backups Clint Irwin and Stew Ceus while Pickens recovers. Reynish, for now, will have the first opportunity to impress.
RSL drafed Reynish in the fourth round of 2007 MLS SuperDraft from UC-Santa Barbara and he spent six seasons with the club, primarily as the backup to U.S. National Team 'keeper Nick Rimando. In 2012 Reynish posted a 1-0-2 record with RSL with two shutouts but did not have his option picked up at the end of the season. He signed with the NY Cosmos in January.
