Galaxy to be without Gonzalez and Keane for Rapids match

Galaxy defender and forward called in for World Cup Qualifying matches next weekend

Two more players will miss the Colorado Rapids match against the LA Galaxy next Saturday. But these two are not part of the Rapids, thankfully.

LA defender Omar Gonzalez and forward Robbie Keane were called in by the U.S. National Team and Ireland National Team, respectively, for upcoming World Cup Qualifying matches. Both players are expected to miss the weekend match at the Home Depot Center against the Rapids (8: 30 p.m. MT, Altitude).

LA is also still without Landon Donovan, who has yet to join the club after an excused leave of absence.

A rash of injuries has seen five key players miss parts of Colorado's first three MLS matches in 2013. Midfielders Jaime Castrillon (knee surgery), Martin Rivero (broken foot), and Pablo Mastroeni (hamstring), as well as forward Edson Buddle (knee) and goalkeeper Matt Pickens (leg, broken arm) have all missed games.

While Rivero, Castrillon, and Pickens are still out for some time, Mastroeni is day-to-day with a hamstring strain and Buddle, who played in the reserve match on Saturday, is inching closer to playing.

The Rapids (0-2-1) head to LA looking for their first win after drawing Real Salt Lake 1-1 last Saturday. The Galaxy are 1-0-1 after tying Chivas USA on Sunday. This will be the Rapids third road game of the season, while LA will play its third straight regular season match at The Home Depot Center. LA has also played one home and one away match in the CONCACAF Champions League.
