Powers makes pro debut in his hometown
Colorado Rapids midfielder Dillon Powers, who calls Dallas home, made his professional debut in the Rapids loss at FC Dallas. He had an estimated 300 family and friends in the stands for the match.
How did it feel out there?
"It was definitely a fun experience for me. Especially my first game back home. I’m really enjoying the pace, adjusting and learning every day. Oscar has been great trying to make me a better player. He’s made the adjustment pretty easy for me."
What was it like playing your first MLS game where you grew up?
"It was really fun. I couldn’t ask for a better place to make my debut in front of family and friends."
On the team performance and result (to MLSsoccer.com)
"It’s a funny game sometimes in that you feel like you deserve a result and don’t get one. The team is still pretty happy with the performance, disappointed with the result, but I think there’s still a lot to build on.”
