On Tuesday MLSSoccer.com announced that Colorado Rapids forward Atiba Harris claimed the top spot on the Castrol Index Weekly Top 20 after scoring both goals in the Rapids' 2-2 draw against Dallas last weekend.

The Castrol Index is the official performance index of Major League Soccer and uses the latest technology to objectively analyze player performance to help fans see soccer from a completely different perspective. The system tracks every move on the field and assesses whether it has a positive or negative impact on a team’s ability to score or concede a goal. Players receive points for a variety of plays, but the number of points awarded depends on which zones of the field they take place in. CASTROL INDEX METHODOLOGY

Harris edged out goalkeepers Michael Gspurning (No. 2, Seattle), Bobby Shuttleworth (No. 3, New England) and Nick Rimando (No. 5, Salt Lake), and Vancouver defender Jordan Harvey (No. 4). Rapids defender Drew Moor finished 19th for the week.

Harris is the first Colorado player to lead the weekly performance chart since Drew Moor took the top spot for Week 1 in 2012.

Later in the day, Harris was named to the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week.
