LA Galaxy coach Bruce Arena says Rapids "manhandled" his team, deserved to win

LA coach says Colorado won most of the battles all day and deserved their win

LA Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena following the Rapids 2-0 win over LA:

On if this was the sloppiest game so far:

"I wouldn't say sloppy, but they physically manhandled us. They won the battles most of the day. It was a really poor goal for us to give up at the end of the first half. It was a big play and obviously not a good way to start the second half by letting them create the second goal. Overall, we deserved to get beat."

On his disappointment:

"The first half, we go in 0-0 and we're in good position. I'm very disappointed with the defending on that set piece at the end of the half. It was obviously a big play in the game."

On the team's tendency to give up goals at the end of the half:

"We have a habit of giving up goals at the end of the half. There's no question about that. That wasn't good."

On not being able to slow Dillon Powers:

"It's because they won the first ball. The second ball sailed to him a lot. We weren't able to do enough against their three forwards. They won the battle against us all day."

On what he told the team after a game like this:

"I told them that we lost too many battles on the field today. We have to get ready for the next one."
