A weekly update on Colorado Rapids Academy alumni playing in Division I schools across the country as of September 18, 2013:

The college soccer season is now in full swing, and a total of 22 Rapids Academy products were on rosters around the NCAA Division I ranks. Alex and Ben Braman continue to play important roles for St. Mary’s, James Rogers keeps scoring for New Mexico, and Bryan Windsor got his first collegiate goal for Princeton.

Avery Ball – Wright State (1-2-1) – Freshman midfielder from Fort Collins did not play in the Raiders’ busy week of three road matches.

Season Stats: Yet to make an appearance

Zach Bolden – University of Denver (1-3-1) – Senior midfielder from Denver started in a 1-0 loss to 5th ranked St. Louis University, and notched a team-high three shots.

Season Stats: 5 games played, 5 starts, 1 goal, 1 assist

Alex Braman – St. Mary’s (CA) College (2-2-1) – Freshman defender from Niwot played all of both of the Gaels’ matches this week, a loss and a draw. He had two shots in the 1-0 loss to UC Davis.

Season Stats: 5 games played, 5 starts, 0 goals, 1 assist

Ben Braman – St. Mary’s (CA) College (2-2-1) – Freshman midfielder from Niwot played the entire match in both of the Gaels’ matches this week, a loss and a draw. Normally a defender, he has shifted into a defensive midfield role for St. Mary’s.

Josue Chavez – Lipscomb University (3-2-0) – Sophomore midfielder from Longmont has broken into the Bisons lineup, starting in a 2-0 loss to Illinois-Chicago and a 1-0 win over Cleveland St. He notched an assist in the win over Cleveland, his first of the season.

Season Stats: 4 games played, 3 starts, 1 goal, 1 assist

Andrew Epstein – Stanford University (2-1-1) – Freshman goalkeeper from Fort Collins has not made an appearance for the Cardinal, and is behind the senior returning starting goalkeeper on the depth chart.

Michael Gottlinger – Iona College (2-2-1) – Freshman defender from Fort Collins has yet to make an appearance for the Gaels.

Chris Gurule – University of New Mexico (3-1-1, #14) – Redshirt freshman defender from Longmont did not play in the Lobos’ matches this weekend.

Season Stats: 1 game played, 0 starts, 0 goals, 0 assists

Karsten Hanlin – University of Denver (1-3-1) – Sophomore midfielder from Centennial did not play in DU’s 1-0 loss to 5th ranked St. Louis University.

Season Stats: 3 games played, 3 starts, 0 goals, 0 assists

Brad Holub – UNLV (2-3-0) – Freshman goalkeeper from Golden has not made an appearance for the Cardinal, and is behind the senior returning starting goalkeeper on the depth chart.

Eric Kronenberg – University of Denver (1-3-1) – Freshman forward from Boulder made his collegiate debut as a substitute in DU’s 1-0 loss to 5th ranked St. Louis University.

Joseph Kuzminsky – Alabama-Birmingham (3-1-1, #20) – Redshirt freshman goalkeeper from Denver did not play in UAB’s matches this week, and is behind a senior goalkeeper on the depth chart.

Season Stats: 1 game played, 0 starts, 0.00 goals against average, 0 saves, 0 shutouts

Ricardo Perez – Creighton University (4-1-0, #5) – Freshman forward from Fort Collins started in both of the Blue Jays’ matches at the Stihl Classic in Norfolk Virginia, a 2OT 2-1 win over Old Dominion and a 2OT 3-2 loss to William & Mary, the team’s first defeat of the year.

Jason Pillard – Wake Forest University (3-2-0, #9) – Freshman defender from Niwot did not appear in the Demon Deacons’ matches this week, a win over Virginia at home and a road loss at Elon.

Season Stats: Yet to make an appearance

James Rogers – University of New Mexico (3-1-1, #14) – Junior forward from Fort Collins continues to make his case as one of the top attacking players in the NCAA, scoring the only goal in a 1-0 win over Santa Clara and playing in the 3-2 loss to undefeated Cal State Northridge at a tournament the Lobos hosted.

Austin Seifert – Wright State (1-2-1) – Freshman forward from Colorado Springs appeared as a substitute in two of the Raiders’ three road matches in the last week.

Season Stats: 3 games played, 0 starts, 0 goals, 0 assists

Patrick Slogic – Cornell University (3-0-1) – Senior defender from Colorado Springs helped Cornell to a pair of home wins this week over Cal State Fullerton and Loyola Marymount. He has played all but four minutes so far this season.

Drake Stewart – Wright State (1-0-0) – Senior forward from Colorado Springs appeared a substitute in the Raiders’ 2-1 loss at West Virginia.

Matthew Taphorn – Central Arkansas (3-3-0) – Junior defender from Denver started both of the Bears’ matches this week, losses at Santa Clara and Cal State Northridge.

Cameron Taylor – Cornell University (3-0-1) – Freshman midfielder from Littleton started in both of the Big Red’s wins this week, defeating both Cal State Fullerton and Loyola Marymount. He played a season high 44 minutes against Fullerton.

Alex Toderica – University of Denver (1-3-1) – Freshman forward from Longmont did not appear in DU’s two road matches this weekend.

Bryan Windsor – Princeton University (1-2-0) – Freshman midfielder from Boulder enjoyed a great moment in the Tigers’ 1-0 win over Seton Hall, scoring on a rebound for his first collegiate goal.
