A weekly update on Colorado Rapids Academy alumni playing in Division I schools across the country as of September 25, 2013:

A total of 22 Rapids Academy products are on rosters around the NCAA Division I ranks, led this week by Patrick Slogic helping Cornell to two wins and a draw, notching a pair of assists.

Read on for individual reports on the Rapids Academy players and their college teams.

Avery Ball – Wright State (1-4-1) – Freshman midfielder from Fort Collins did not play in the Raiders’ two matches this week.

Season Stats: Yet to make an appearance

Zach Bolden – University of Denver (2-3-2) – Senior midfielder from Denver did not play in a 2-2 tie with Bradley, but had an assist on the first goal in a 2-1 overtime win against San Diego State.

Season Stats: 6 games played, 6 starts, 1 goal, 2 assists

Alex Braman – St. Mary’s (CA) College (2-4-1) – Freshman defender from Niwot started both of the Gaels matches this weekend as the team suffered a pair of losses.

Season Stats: 7 games played, 7 starts, 0 goals, 1 assist

Ben Braman – St. Mary’s (CA) College (2-4-1) – Freshman midfielder from Niwot started both of the Gaels matches this weekend as the team suffered a pair of losses.

Josue Chavez – Lipscomb University (3-3-1) – Sophomore midfielder from Longmont continues his run in the starting lineup for the Bisons, starting both matches (a 2-2 draw vs. Appalachian State, 2-0 loss to Central Arkansas) at the Lipscomb Invitational tournament. His strong play made him one of two Lipscomb players named in the All-Tournament team.

Andrew Epstein – Stanford University (4-1-1) – Freshman goalkeeper from Fort Collins has not made an appearance for the Cardinal, and is behind the senior returning starting goalkeeper on the depth chart.

Michael Gottlinger – Iona College (2-4-1) – Freshman defender from Fort Collins broke into the starting lineup for the Gaels, making his first two collegiate appearances. He started and played the full 90 in his debut, a 1-0 loss at Hartwick.

Chris Gurule – University of New Mexico (4-2-1, #25) – Redshirt freshman defender from Longmont did not play in the Lobos’ matches this weekend.

Season Stats: 1 game played, 0 starts, 0 goals, 0 assists

Karsten Hanlin – University of Denver (2-3-2) – Sophomore midfielder from Centennial started in DU’s 2-2 tie against Bradley and was a substitute in the 2-1 OT win against San Diego State.

Season Stats: 5 games played, 4 starts, 0 goals, 0 assists

Brad Holub – UNLV (2-5-0) – Freshman goalkeeper from Golden has not made an appearance for the Cardinal, and is behind the senior returning starting goalkeeper on the depth chart.

Eric Kronenberg – University of Denver (2-3-2)  – Freshman forward from Boulder appeared as a substitute in two matches as the Pioneers enjoyed a 1-0-1 week.

Joseph Kuzminsky – Alabama-Birmingham (4-1-1, #14) – Redshirt freshman goalkeeper from Denver made his second collegiate appearance at the end of a 4-0 win over Mercer, making two saves and allowing no goals in 17 minutes of action.

Ricardo Perez – Creighton University (5-1-1, #3) – Freshman forward from Fort Collins appeared as a substitute in both Blue Jays matches this week, including the big home win over #7 St. Johns.

Jason Pillard – Wake Forest University (5-2-0, #24) – Freshman defender from Niwot did not appear in the Demon Deacons’ matches this week, a pair of wins.

James Rogers – University of New Mexico (4-2-1, #25) – Junior forward from Fort Collins had an assist on the only goal in a 1-0 win over UC Santa Barbara, but the Lobos suffered an upset to Drake in a 1-1-0 week.

Austin Seifert – Wright State (1-4-1) – Freshman forward from Colorado Springs did not appear in the Raiders’ two matches this week.

Patrick Slogic – Cornell University (5-0-2) – Senior defender from Colorado Springs had a strong week with the Big Red, starting all three matches and getting two wins and a draw. In a 2-1 win over Binghamton, the big centerback had assists on both goals.

Drake Stewart – Wright State (1-4-1) – Senior forward from Colorado Springs started in the Raiders’ 2-1 loss to Northern Kentucky, and came in as a sub in a 2-1 loss at Duke.

Matthew Taphorn – Central Arkansas (4-4-0) – Junior defender from Denver played in both of the Bears’ matches in a 1-1-0 week.

Cameron Taylor – Cornell University (5-0-2) – Freshman midfielder from Littleton did not play as the Big Red earned two wins and a draw.
