The Colorado Rapids U-18 squad played the Texas Rush to a 2-2 draw on Sunday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The U-18s kicked off at 10 a.m. at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and early pressure from the home team resulted in a turnover that Jacob Hanlin pounced on.  His composed finish gave the Rapids the lead in the third minute. Despite the Rapids controlling most of the first half, Rush responded in the 38th to tie it with a 19 yard free kick from Justin Garcia.  Good buildup and a nice combination inside the box led to a Victor Rolph backheel finish just before halftime to send his team off with a 2-1 advantage. Rush proved a constant second half threat and equalized in the 76th minute to end the match in a 2-2 draw.

With the tie, the Rapids hold a 1-2-3 (W-L-T) record and are 10th (out of 13) in the Frontier Division. The team will next face Texans SC Houston on Friday, Oct. 25 and the Houston Dynamo on Sunday at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
