A weekly update on the 22 Colorado Rapids Academy alumni playing in Division I schools across the country as of October 2, 2013:

This week, the Rapids players that are here locally at the University of Denver had a big week: senior Zach Bolden (pictured) had a game-winner in one match and assisted on Eric Kronenberg’s game winner, the first of the freshman’s career. Karsten Hanlin played in both matches for the Pioneers, and Alex Toderica made his collegiate debut.

Avery Ball – Wright State (3-4-1) – Freshman midfielder from Fort Collins did not play in the Raiders’ two matches this week.

Season Stats: Yet to make an appearance

Zach Bolden – University of Denver (4-3-2) – Senior midfielder from Denver had a huge weekend for the Pioneers, assisting on Eric Kronenberg’s goal in a 1-0 win over Portland on Friday, and scoring the game-winner in Sunday’s 2-1 win over a strong Cal Poly Pomona team.

Alex Braman – St. Mary’s (CA) College (2-4-2) – Freshman defender from Niwot started in the Gaels match this weekend, a 0-0 draw with San Jose State, playing the entire match.

Season Stats: 7 games played, 7 starts, 0 goals, 1 assist

Ben Braman – St. Mary’s (CA) College (2-4-2) – Freshman defender from Niwot started in the Gaels match this weekend, a 0-0 draw with San Jose State, playing the entire match.

Season Stats: 7 games played, 7 starts, 0 goals, 1 assist

Josue Chavez – Lipscomb University (4-4-1) – Sophomore midfielder from Longmont started both games this week for the Bisons, playing the full 90 in a 2-1 loss to Georgia in which he registered three shots.

Season Stats: 8 games played, 7 starts, 1 goal, 1 assist

Andrew Epstein – Stanford University (5-1-1) – Freshman goalkeeper from Fort Collins has not made an appearance for the Cardinal, and is behind the senior returning starting goalkeeper on the depth chart.

Michael Gottlinger – Iona College (3-4-1) – Freshman defender from Fort Collins did not play in the Gael’s only match of the week, a 3-1 win over Farleigh Dickinson.

Season Stats: 2 games played, 2 starts, 0 goals, 0 assists

Chris Gurule – University of New Mexico (5-3-1) – Redshirt freshman defender from Longmont did not play in the Lobos’ matches this weekend.

Season Stats: 1 game played, 0 starts, 0 goals, 0 assists

Karsten Hanlin – University of Denver (4-3-2) – Sophomore forward from Centennial played in both of the Pioneers’ wins this weekend, starting in the 2-1 win over Cal Poly Pomona.

Brad Holub – UNLV (2-6-0) – Freshman goalkeeper from Golden has not made an appearance for the Cardinal, and is behind the senior returning starting goalkeeper on the depth chart.

Eric Kronenberg – University of Denver (4-3-2)   – Freshman forward from Boulder scored his first collegiate goal last weekend, and it was huge for the Pioneers, giving DU a 1-0 win over Portland on the road. The assist came from fellow Rapids Academy player Zach Bolden.

Joseph Kuzminsky – Alabama-Birmingham (7-1-1, #15) – Redshirt freshman goalkeeper from Denver did not play this week, as UAB earned a pair of victories.

Season Stats: 2 games played, 0 starts, 0.00 goals against average, 2 saves

Ricardo Perez – Creighton University (5-2-2, #4) – Freshman forward from Fort Collins appeared as a sub in a 0-0 draw with Georgetown before starting in the 1-0 loss to St. Louis.

Season Stats: 9 games played, 4 starts, 2 goals, 0 assists

Jason Pillard – Wake Forest University (5-2-2, #20) – Freshman defender from Niwot did not appear in the Demon Deacons’ matches this week, a pair of draws.

Season Stats: Yet to make an appearance

James Rogers – University of New Mexico (5-3-1) – Junior forward from Fort Collins started both of the Lobos matches this week as the team had a win and a loss.  

Season Stats: 9 games played, 9 starts, 4 goals, 2 assist

Austin Seifert – Wright State (3-4-1) – Freshman forward from Colorado Springs played in the Raiders’ 2-0 win at IUPUI on Tuesday night.

Season Stats: 4 games played, 0 starts, 0 goals, 0 assists

Patrick Slogic – Cornell University (6-1-2) – Senior defender from Colorado Springs scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Buffalo, and also started in the Big Red’s first loss of the season, against Niagara.

Drake Stewart – Wright State (3-4-1) – Senior forward from Colorado Springs appeared as a substitute in both of the Raiders’ 2-0 wins this week.

Matthew Taphorn – Central Arkansas (4-5-0) – Junior defender from Denver started in the Bears’ 4-1 loss to nationally ranked St. Louis.

Cameron Taylor – Cornell University (6-1-2) – Freshman midfielder from Littleton did not play as the Big Red had a 1-1 week.

Alex Toderica – University of Denver (4-3-2) – Freshman forward from Longmont made his collegiate debut for the Pioneers in the 2-1 win over Cal Poly Pomona.

Bryan Windsor – Princeton University (2-5-0) – Freshman midfielder from Boulder is out with an injury as the Tigers had a 1-1 week.
