Colorado Rapids to face the Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference Knockout match

Fifth place Rapids meet 4th place Sounders in Seattle on Wednesday

The Colorado Rapids will face the Seattle Sounders in the Western Conference Knockout match of the 2013 MLS Cup Playoffs at CenturyLink Field in Washington on Wednesday at 8:30 pm MT. Coverage will start on Altitude 2 at 8pm MT.

Colorado (14-11-9, 51 points) finished in fifth place in the West, one point behind fourth place Seattle (15-12-7, 52 points).

The two teams met three times in 2013, with each side winning once and one draw.

On April 20 Seattle walked away from Colorado with a 1-0 win at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. The teams then played to 1-1 tie on July 20 at CenturyLink Field before the Rapids routed the Sounder 5-1 in Colorado on Oct. 5.

Colorado and Seattle have never met in the MLS Cup Playoffs.

The winner of the Knockout Match will advance to the Western Conference Semifinal series against Portland Timbers FC. Should Colorado defeat Seattle, the Rapids would host the Timbers in the first-leg of the home-and-home series on Saturday, Nov. 2 or Sunday, Nov. 3 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City.
