Watch: Deshorn Brown scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season

Rookie credits National Team debut for momentum to return to help the Rapids

Colorado Rapids forward Deshorn Brown following 3-2 home win over Vancouver in which he scored his 10th goal of the season:

On getting to start:

"We played well tonight. Coming from my national team, I was kind of tired being back in altitude is tough, so I was pushing myself. It is just really hard on you. I was just pushing myself today."

On adjustments in the second half:

"I just had to focus because I don’t let it bother me. I just came out there and pushed myself and you do the best that you do because we knew that we needed this win to stay in the playoffs, so I just stayed focused and come back out in the second half and we will get two goals and we will get a win."

On collision in the first half with Vancouver defender:

"He kneed me, but it wasn’t that bad so I just fought it and it was pretty good."

On having a healthy roster heading into playoffs:

"I think it is pretty good because we have been fighting from the beginning of the season with injuries and we just don’t want that to happen again. We are just trying to stay as healthy as we possibly can. We keep fighting. We just got to go."

On his season so far:

"I didn’t expect to get so many minutes, but there was a lot of injuries as I said in the early part of the season. I came on, and I worked, and Oscar [Pareja] gave me the opportunity to go out there and play and I just go out there and do my thing and keep working with the team and just trying to get better every day."

On feeling more comfortable with the team and in the game:

"You learn the game every day that you play. I am getting more comfortable with the ball and trying to do my thing that I can do. I’m just getting better at it; I’m just focusing on that."

On experience with Jamaican National team:

"It was a pretty good experience, especially playing against the [United States]. It was a great experience. The U.S. has a great team as well. I just go out there and try to do the best I can. I know my country, we’re not likely to make it to the World Cup so it was a tough decision to make. I just go out there and work with the experience that I get and show the world I can play."

On the national team experience helping him in playoffs:

"Oh yes, definitely. I am just going to go out there and do my thing. It gave me a lot of momentum to go out there and push, so I start believing in myself more, so it is pretty good."
