Colorado Rapids team captain Drew Moor following 1-0 loss at San Jose:

Assessment of the game:

“We just couldn’t really find the game. I thought we had to defend for long periods of time. Obviously, San Jose takes a lot of risks going forward. They put a lot of balls in the box. They’re very direct. I think it’s unfortunate that the goal eventually came off a corner kick. Set pieces are one aspect of the game that we try to control and that we work a lot on. I thought we did a pretty good job through the run of play dealing with the direct style of play. But on the other side of the ball I don’t think we created enough, we weren’t able to possess it enough. We weren’t able to find the game tonight. It’s a missed opportunity. We’ve made it a little bit harder for ourselves.”

On openness of Western Conference playoff race:

“It’s unbelievable, it’s exciting. I’m a fan of this league. It becomes a little stressful if you think about it too much. We control our own destiny. We’ve put ourselves in this situation in which we can control our own destiny at this point. But nobody’s safe right now other than the one team that has qualified for the playoffs. This is the time where you don’t just want to scrape into the playoffs. You want to be playing well right now.”
