Oscar Pareja's post-game comments following loss at Vancouver
Colorado Rapids head coach Oscar Pareja following the 3-0 loss at Vancouver:
Thoughts on the match:
“When you lose a game like that, you can say that we’re not really in a playoff mode that you want to see a team in.”
On dropping Gabriel Torres to the midfield:
“We have to explore all the possibilities. Gaby did a good job in the last game when we played them. Despite the result, the plan worked how we wanted. Is that a plan for the future? We will see.”
On the absence of Dillon Powers and Vincente Sanchez:
“I normally don’t look at who is not in the lineup. We have built this team with a different mentality. I don’t talk about the players I don’t play. We’re trying to recover them, and we hope they can be part of the playoff game.”
On the debut of Dillon Serna:
“It was a good moment for him to come in and give some crossing opportunities. It was a game we wanted to bring him in and give him the opportunity he deserved for a long time. He did well, I’m very proud of him.
On how his side will respond in the playoffs:
“You can’t feel sorry for yourself [in MLS] if you didn’t achieve things, the boys did great to get into the playoffs. We were fighting today for important things, we tried to get an advantage at home in third place; but I have to recognize this group of players have done a tremendous job getting into the playoffs – that is not easy.
