Rapids Podcast: Deshorn Brown has agent Damani Ralph's record in sight

Brown could match rookie goals record held by agent and former Chicago Fire standout

The Colorado Rapids face a return fixture against the Vancouver Whitecaps this Sunday, kick-off 6pm MT, in the last game of the regular season.

Records could tumble, and not just Rapids records. Jamaican striker Deshorn Brown netted his 10th goal of his rookie season in the 3-2 win over the Whitecaps last weekend. He is now just one shy of equalling MLS's rookie best, set by Damani Ralph when with the Chicago Fire in 2003.

So, in this week's Rapids Podcast, we speak with Ralph about that record. We also talk of the strong possibility that Brown could set a new mark this weekend. And what makes it even more interesting is that Ralph just happens to be Brown's agent.

"When we (strikers) find a coach and a team who believes in us, it makes a big difference and that has helped him (Brown)," Ralph said.

Ahead of the trip to Vancouver, hosts David Lindholm and Richard Fleming also hear from Clint Irwin, who is chasing a club record 11th shutout, and defender Shane O'Neill.
