Rapids vs. Chivas USA brought forward 24 hours

MLS meeting changed to avoid direct conflict with exhibition match at Broncos stadium

The Colorado Rapids' home match against Chivas USA, originally scheduled for Saturday July 26, will now take place a day earlier.

It has been moved to Friday, July 25, kick-off 7.30pm MT. This is to avoid a direct clash with the International Champions Cup contest between Manchester United and AS Roma, at Mile High Stadium.

The Rapids' match with Chivas on July 25 will be the second meeting between the two sides at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. They also face each other in Commerce City on May 11, the 10th game of the regular season, by which stage they will already have met twice in preseason.

In their three meetings last season, the Rapids won two and tied the other.

Former Rapids assistant coach, Wilmer Cabrera, is now in charge at Chivas USA. He is joined in California by Paul Caffrey and Paul Grafer. Caffrey was an assistant coach with the Rapids, while Grafer was a former goalkeeper with the club.
