Five things to note ahead of #COLvSKC
Clint Irwin is back at 100% but it has been reported that Pablo Mastroeni will likely stick with rookie John Berner in goal on Saturday.
Appears Berner’s the guy for now, @JasonAsay. Will likely go back to Irwin, but Mastroeni in if-it-ain’t-broke state of mind right now.

Talk about deja vu. Last season, it was Irwin who stepped into net as an unproven keeper when Matt Pickens went down with an unfortunate injury. How far can Berner take the Rapids this season? Only time will tell.
José Mari Suspended
Midfielder José Mari is suspended after his red card on March 22. Speculation is that Mastroeni will start either Nathan Sturgis or rookie Jared Watts. Sturgis had a solid 2013 season in which he tallied four goals and an assist. According to Mastroeni, Sturgis is the more offensive option and Watts, the 33rd overall pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft, is the more defensive option.
The Rapids have been consistent in creating chances and converting penalty kicks this season. Call it cunning if you will, but being aggressive on the attack has created chances, and capitalizing on those chances has led to results.

There is quite a bit of history between Colorado and Kansas City. The last time the Rapids defeated Kansas City in MLS play was 3/28/2009. Yes, your math is correct. It has been five years. I'd say Colorado is ripe for a win this weekend.
Compared to last week's weather, tomorrow will be absolutely scorching. A high of 63 degrees with zero chance of rain? Yes, please. Hope to see you all out at Dick's Sporting Goods Park!
