Comfortable first for Rapids U-17s at Generation adidas Cup
Colorado Rapids 3, Chivas Guadalajara 0
Colorado Rapids earned their first win of the Generation adidas Cup on Friday, cruising to a 3-0 win over Chivas Guadalajara. Colorado leapt ahead just six minutes in when a long right-wing cross from Elias Helbig was met first time at the far post by the incoming left back Christopher Reichman.
The Rapids doubled their lead in the 21st minute, as Kyle Ericson curled a free kick to the top corner. Defender and captain Quentin Pearson added the finishing touch in the second half when a corner kick fell in the penalty area, and he reacted first to fire a high left-footed shot into the net.
